This video is all about cannabidiol, aka CBD aka one of the Internet’s newest all-natural obsessions. I’m not only going to break down what it is, but I’m going to answer all the most pressing questions surrounding it, like: Can you use CBD oil for anxiety? Can CBD oil help you sleep? Is CBD oil legal? What are the side effects of CBD? And much, much more.

But first things first… what in the world is CBD? Well, CBD is a natural compound found in the flower of the cannabis plant. Cannabis contains more than a hundred of these “phytocannabinoids” (including the popular psychoactive one tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC), so CBD is just one of many cannabis-derived compounds.

But unlike THC, CBD isn’t psychoactive. I repeat: CBD does not trigger hallucinations or intoxication. It’s most commonly contained within gummies, oils, and creams to treat everything from loss of appetite to joint pain, anxiety, and even poor sleep. I should also add that it’s totally legal to purchase and consume hemp-derived-CBD in all 50 states.

To learn more about how CBD works in the body (as well as how it feels and how much you should take), make sure to click play on the video above. Then, you can hop on over to my full guide, where I go into even more detail about the compound’s effects and the research that’s been done into it!

That's all for now, be sure to head to Sleepopolis for more great information on sleep health as well as sleep products including mattresses, pillows and bedding!

  1. I've been rather lazy about looking into CBD stuff. I guess because of all the spam emails I get about it…my eyes automatically pass over each time the letters "CBD" is in the subject line now. So I guess I've been missing something that could benifit my sleep. I'm such a lightweight when it comes to meds so I bet it wouldn't take but 5 or 10 mg for me. Thanks for the info.

  2. Is there any regulation of the CBD that’s on the market? (Sold outside dispensaries) I’ve read that you could be getting snake oil or the genuine product. When can you tell if you’re getting the real thing without always purchasing from a dispensary? Marijuana is legal in my state so I can purchase CBD products there also. Thank you for your help. You’re fanfreakingtastic!

  3. as long as it does not make you feel funny or illegal I might try it. I do have problems with not being able to sleep. I am bipolar and some times i have a hard time sleeping. Could it help with that?

  4. I'd love to try. There are so many CBD products to choose from, and I just don't know which one. Hence, I keep watching your reviews until I find one for me! It is nice to know that CBD can help some joint pain. Thank you for the educational review!

  5. I’ve been using CBD for a few months now and it really helped me fall asleep and stay asleep throughout the night. This stuff really works. Thank you guys at Sleepopolis for introducing me to CBD oils it helped a lot. Keep up the great work and i look forward to future videos????
